The Boreal Brewers accepted the challenge of providing a variety of locally produced homebrew and homemade wine during the social hour before the annual Eldercircle fundraiser dinner. These dinners aim to use only locally produced food, and local homebrewers fit right into that concept. This year’s dinner was held outside at SPICA farm, and the chefs literally walked out into the expansive garden to select the vegetables that would be cooked into the dinner.
Eldercircle’s local mission is “to maintain the independence of seniors by linking them, their families and caregivers to services.”
Boreal Brewers Erik, Steve and Larry provided a dozen different styles of beer and wines made from Minnesota malts, or local fruit and honey, so those attending the dinner could engage in locavore sampling. It was a beautiful summer evening, and a lot of fun for all.
