Our next regular meeting will be on Wednesday, April 20th @ 6pm.
Chad H will be hosting the group at his house. We have a bunch of planning to do for events coming in the next few weeks, and we hope for a good attendance.
We’ll have brats, quinoa fruit salad and plenty of homebrew. You’re welcome to bring refreshments or a treat too.
Chad will showcase the Electric brewery that drives his brewing efforts.
Members can reply to the webmaster when you get the notice of this posting and we’ll send directions to Chad’s house via email.
See you Wednesday!
Celebrate National Homebrew Day With Us on May 7th
The Boreal Brewers will be celebrating National Homebrew Day at Zorbaz on Pokegama Lake. We’ll be brewing out front by the main entrance, and will provide tastings of homebrew on the deck lakeside. Wade and his crew will have craft beers on tap, plus great food, as always, available from the Zorbaz menu.
Come on out and brew with us, learn about brewing beer, or just hang out and watch and talk beer! No politics here! Small samples of a variety of homebrews will be available. Remember, a tasting is not a swilling, so savor the flavor.
Don’t Miss the Simultaneous Toast noon CDT on May 7, 2016!
The 2016 Official Recipes are available on the American Homebrewers Association’s website. Brewers are welcome to brew any style, but you can expect to see on of the official recipes being brewed that day.
(In 1988, May 7 was announced before Congress as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. AHA Big Brew is held each year on the first Saturday in May.)
The American Homebrewers Association has a really good article about how to balance your kegerator to maintain proper carbonation and flow through your taps. Check it out online at the AHA website
I updated the theme of our site to make it mobile friendly. The original theme showed poorly (very crowded) on a phone or tablet. This new theme is much easier to read and navigate on your smartphone or tablet. Check it out.
The new theme changed some things around on our site, and I will try to get much of it back to the original look, but it will take some tweaking, so bear with me. Hopefully, it’ll still be familiar and easy to find your way around on the desktop site.
Relax and have a homebrew.
