Klocktoberfest Was Great!

The 2018 annual Oktoberfest of Grand Rapids, MN, was held for the second year at Klockow Brewing on September 29th, hence “Klocktoberfest.”  Though it was a cold day outside, many people held up like Minnesotans, and tried homebrew samples outside from the Boreal Brewers, tried Klockow beers served outside and chose excellent German food from Tikes (smoked pork, brats, German potato salad).  The inflated bounce palace eventually filled with kids, the bean bag toss and Hammerschlagen logs were used, and some found the heater in the large tent to be a good place to spend time.  The taproom was packed due to great beer, great music from Doctor Kielbasa and the Plucked Up String Band, and of course, warmth.  Since the temperature hung at about 38-40F, the homebrew kegs didn’t even need chilling.  Of the people outside, you may notice a lot of hands in pockets!

You really don’t want to miss the 2019 Klocktoberfest!  It might even be warmer outside.

  1. Klocktoberfest was great. Andy gave me and other visitors a great tour of the brewery. Hope to learn more and get back into brewing!
