We were invited to be part of the 7th Annual Taste of Itasca. Our participation will help to make this a great fund-raising event for Bridges Kinship Mentoring, helping them to continue to make a difference in the lives of children in our county.
If you are able to attend, send beer or both, please sign up on our Doodle Poll so we can plan accordingly. There will be about 300 people at this event, so it would be nice to have enough for a lot of folks to try our beer. I think it will be a real hit. A few of us have donated home brew for their auctions in past years, and it is not uncommon for six packs to bring a $60-$70 donation for Bridges Mentoring.
DETAILS: The Taste of Itasca will be held at Timberlake Lodge, 144 SE 17th Street Grand Rapids, MN 55744. The idea of Taste of Itasca is to offer new and unique samplings to participants. Non-alcohol items are also welcomed, such as brewed root beer. The beer, wine & spirits vendors will be set up in 2 rooms. The food vendors will be set up in the main rooms of the convention center and will not be opening until 6:30 pm.
Our sample portion of the evening will be from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. There will be some people who choose to linger over wine and beer samplings so it will be up to us whether we want to stay at our table after 6:30 pm. We are invited to partake in the food portion. Though we may not have seating in the convention center feel free to bring it back to our sample table.
The time frame is as follows:
3:00-6:15 Beer, Spirits and Wine Vendor Set Up (Restaurant set up, as well)
5:00-6:30 pm Wine and Beer Tasting
6:30-7:45 pm Food Tasting
7:15 pm Opportunity for Wine and Beer Vendors to Break Down
7:45 pm Program/Live Auction
We will have a 6 foot table. Cheese and cracker platters will be scattered throughout the drink venue. Each ticket holder will be given a wine glass for sampling wine/beer/spirits. Some beer/spirit vendors may choose to have on hand 3 oz cups for their beverage instead, but that’s up to you. A limited amount of ice will be available. If you are able to bring your own that would be great.
